What it is

An immersive virtual reality experience that recreates the overwhelm, crowding and physical tension of rush hour on mass transit in Colombia (TransMilenio in Bogotá), placing the viewer at the scale and body height of a ten-year-old child. The work looks at spatial awareness and how the body perceives public space when the mass of passengers physically overpowers you.

First explorations in VR

The project was my first exploration with virtual reality tools:

Process and exhibition

I started development in the first semester of 2019, as academic and experimental work at RecLab. The animation was taken further in 2020. The piece was shown to the public with an interactive headset at the 12th Cinetoro Experimental Film Festival (Toro, Valle del Cauca, November 2019).
